Managing audiobooks and keeping track of their positions can be frustrating. This extension simplifies the process by allowing you to manage your books, and automatically start the playback from where you left off. To add a new audiobook, switch to the sidebar view by clicking the "three lines" button, then press "Add a Book" and enter the unique book name. You can drop audio tracks into the view, and the extension will organize them within the book. If needed, use the handle button to reorder tracks. There is no limit to the number of books you can add. Once you start playing a book, you can control playback using your OS media keys (play, pause, resume, seek forward, and backward). The extension's player interface also provides dedicated buttons for 10-second and 1-minute forward and backward seeking. The extension remembers the book's current position, allowing you to close it and resume listening later.

How can I add a new book to this extension?

To add a new book to this extension, follow these steps:

• Click on the "three-line" button to switch to the sidebar view.
• In the sidebar view, locate and click on the "Add a Book" button.
• Enter the name of the book you wish to add. Make sure the book name is unique.
• Once you have entered the book name, you can either drop the relevant audio tracks into the view or utilize the "Add new Tracks" button. If you have installed this extension as a Progressive Web App (PWA), you can conveniently share audio tracks directly with the application. Alternatively, you can also open audio and video tracks using this application.
• The extension will automatically place the audio tracks inside the book for you.
• If the audio tracks need to be sorted differently, use the handle button to reorder them as desired.
• Repeat these steps to add as many books as you like. There is no limitation on the number of books you can add.

Although this extension supports video files, it only plays the audio tracks but retains the original video file. If you plan to add a large video file, it is advisable to extract the audio track and add it instead. This approach saves significant disk space and allows you to store more books within the extension.

Where does the extension keep my audiobooks?

The extension uses the browser's internal sandbox storage to store the books and audio tracks. It creates a directory for each book using the book name and organizes the tracks within that directory. This storage method ensures the persistence of data within the extension. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the "navigator.storage" API is utilized to create and manage directories in the sandboxed storage, allowing for a structured and organized storage approach.

How can I delete an audiobook when I am done with this book?

To remove a book, navigate to the sidebar view and select it. Click on the "Delete this Book" button and confirm the deletion. The extension will permanently erase the book from its internal storage. Please note that you cannot recover deleted books, so exercise caution when removing them.

How can I change the order of audio tracks in an audiobook?

To change the order of audio tracks in an audiobook, follow these steps:

• Switch to the sidebar view by clicking on the "three-line" button.
• Locate and select the audiobook you want to modify the track order.
• Within the audiobook's view, you should see the list of audio tracks.
• To reorder the tracks, use the handle button (represented by a series of horizontal lines) located next to each track.
• Click and drag the handle button of a track to the desired position within the list.
• Release the mouse button to drop the track into its new position.
• The extension will automatically update the track order based on your modifications.

Is there any limitation on how many books the extension can handle?

There is no explicit limitation on the number of books the extension can handle. However, the capacity to handle books may be subject to the limitations of your computer's storage capacity and performance. As long as your computer can accommodate the storage requirements of the audiobooks, you can add and manage as many books as you need within the extension.
